Isn't anyone paying attention?

We all know someone who has had a suspicious mole removed from their body. We are all aware that using sunblock will help prevent sunburn, and we've all seen the statistics concerning the increase of skin cancer. Isn't anyone paying attention?
Bloomberg.com references a published study in the July 10, 2008, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, which reveals that within the past 20 years, there has been a 50% increase in Melanoma diagnosis of women ages 15 to 39 years of age. They also report that the rate for young men has remained stable. In another story reported by the Associated Press (June 11, 2007), I read that Melanoma is now being diagnosed in children! The warnings are out there, but is anyone listening? Getting a sunburn is not just the results from a day at the beach. Our daily exposure needs to be considered as well. There are products that make it easy to protect ourselves from over exposure to the sun. There are simple ways to avoid aging and burning our skin.
In our modern-day lives, we all want products that are convenient to use. If there was a product that you could carry in your pocket or back pack, and conveniently apply, wouldn't you try it? If it worked to prevent painful sunburns, aging skin, and more importantly, dangerous skin cancer, why wouldn't you?
Whatever you choose, any sun protection is better than none. Just find yourself a good sunscreen, that does not complicate your busy life. SUNSCREEN Ė DONíT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!
