Welcome to the premier issue of asksunnyburns.com. My name is Jacque and I'm writing from the hazy, hot, and humid Northeast. As I write this, I am also preparing for our yearly summer vacation at the New Jersey shore. I've packed my sunglasses, umbrella, bathing suits, beach chair, books, and a week's supply of Sundition sunscreen. If you see me at the beach, lathered and covered up, you'll probably ask... why bother? When I'm not jumping around in the waves, or walking the boardwalk, you can find me hiding under the umbrella and covered from head to toe. I enjoy the sunshine just as much as the next person. However, I have a healthy respect for the sun and always try to protect my skin from sunburn.
Of course, we all know that sunshine is important to stay healthy. The key is knowing how much sun to get and when to avoid the it. In the weeks to come I hope to share with you my personal experiences, and knowledge, acquired about sun protection, along with approaches to keeping our skin healthy and glowing. Please feel free to share your stories with me about your sun experiences, both good and unfortunate. If there's anything you want to know, I'll be happy to help you figure out the answers, and if you don't agree with me, share that too. Be safe and make good choices! Jacque
